EPHEMERISM is the gothic universe of Benoit Barnay, a Parisian-born artist and skater.
His twisted paintings are symbolic autobiographical stories; illustrating a wild journey of trauma and the beauty that comes from it. Barnays career in the art/fashion world began when his life was saved by Michle LAMY. Following a long period of personal darkness and near-death, he was welcomed into her world, where she nurtured his talent for fine art. Soon his illustrations were featured in the Rick Owens SS15 show Faun, which gathered a cult following.

EPHEMERISM was selected by Michele Lamy to be one of her 6 LAMYLAND artists for the WHAT ARE WE SKATING FOR? event in 2022. Michele Lamy is an internationally renowned creative hyphenate and Co Founding Partner and Executive Manager Art/Furniture Owenscorp. LAMYLAND is an umbrella term for her independent creative projects and endeavours, bringing together all the key elements integral to her practice – experimentation, collaboration, storytelling and creation.
