Beneath the Underdog 1-5, 2023: Each of the five hand-painted decks depict unique beauty pageant trophies expressively rendered by Hermanns own hand using oil paint. In these works, Hermann subverts trophies from objects mass produced in celebration of conformity to totems of individuality. The decks share the same title as Chapter 5 of Mixtape which is also a reference to Charles Mingus autobiography of the same name.
